Totally focused on a live gig or in the studio, undertaking all types of music with bands, orchestras, shows, session work & clinics. Jan has worked with various TV, radio and live West End productions including Lés Miserablés, Chicago, South Pacific, Tommy Cooper & Eric Sykes, Freddie Starr, The Three Degrees, Michael Parkinson Petula Clarke and session work for major artistes worldwide. Currently he’s to be regularly found playing with the Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra in France & The Denmark Street Big Band in London. During the last fifty  years, Jan has become increasingly involved in jazz education, teaching many students who have gone on to become successful performers throughout the music industry. With a BMus (Hons) Degree plus a huge experience gained from the Royal Marines playing on HMY Britannia (The Royal Yacht) and accredited as a private instructor and clinician, Jan is available to discuss many categories including trumpet fundamentals, breathing, aperture control, trouble shooting, choosing the right equipment for the job, ensemble playing, the role of a lead player, musicality, differences in jazz style, and a few points of friendly advice. Jan runs one of the very best Jazz Orchestras in the UK – Brass Breakout Jazz Orchestra a powerhouse of excellent musicians regularly playing to sell out crowds.
